MCEA has finalized contract negotiations with the University Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) and became effective January 1, 2020.

Ratification Meeting for Baltimore City Public School Employees will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2020, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the City Union of Baltimore Headquarters, 2117 N. Howard St. in Baltimore (Do Not Park on the Save-a-Lot parking lot). This meeting is for CUB members only. Notices were mailed to members on 1/24/2020.

Members from many of the locals of AFT-Maryland were in Atlantic City, New Jersey for the 2020 Metropolitan Baltimore AFL-CIO 29th Annual Leadership Conference. The conference featured a number of important breakout sessions that members and leaders alike learned from. Charge nurses and physicians took to Annapolis to lobby legislators for better pay. As it is, physician clinical specialists do not receive the same pay as psychiatrist clinical in a given state facility. AFT Healthcare-Maryland, which represents physician clinical specialists, are working hard to ensure our members who do comparable work receive comparable pay.
