We all have had, or will have, bad days, bad units, bad test results, and sometimes bad years.  Don't lose heart or hope in the power of being a teacher.  This inspirational story starts sad, but by the end, it shows us all the power of great teaching.

It is with deep sorrow and regret that Linda Day, President of the Maryland Classified Employees Association (MCEA) must announce the passing of Byron J. Johnson (BJ). Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, friends and union brothers and sisters. 

The South Central Federation of Labor (SCFL) has announced their application process for scholarship for 2015-16.  The application deadline is June 26, 2015.

Members of our locals celebrate the holidays in many ways. On Friday, December 5th, members of the City Union of Baltimore gathered for their annual holiday party and program at the IBEW Local 24 Union Hall in Baltimore.

On behalf of the Clothes Closet Advisory Board and volunteers, I would like to thank you for the very generous donation of $500 on December 17, 2014.

Many thanks to our members who came out to help with the Metropolitan Baltimore Council AFL-CIO Holiday Baskets program for Union members who are suffering financial hardship. On Tues., Dec. 16, 2014, BCFPE and City Union of Baltimore members helped to organize and stuff baskets for families.
